Certain witnesses, who had been served with formal statutory notices which required them to provide written statements to the Inquiry for use in the Sisters of Nazareth case study , had applied to have the notices revoked. Lady Smith arranged a hearing on the 4th April at 10am at which time the witnesses’ solicitor spoke in support of these applications.
During Phase 2 the Inquiry continued to examine evidence it had ingathered, researched and analysed relating to residential child care establishments run by Catholic Orders. This phase resumed with a case study about residential child care establishments run by the Sisters of Nazareth. Hearings continued on the 22nd May 2018 and ended on the 3rd July 2018
