Attending Inquiry hearings – Covid 19 measures

Hearings take place at the Inquiry’s hearing venue at Mint House, 20 West Register St, Edinburgh and usually involve a combination of evidence from witnesses in person and remote evidence by video-link. Witness schedules will be published on the Inquiry website at the end of the week before the hearing is due to take place.

Members of the public can attend hearings.

We are mindful of the continuing risks of the Covid 19 virus being transmitted and consider it to be very important that we take all the steps we can to reduce the risks of spreading infection.

From 18 April 2022, there is no longer a legal requirement to wear a face covering in indoor public spaces. However, we would encourage you to continue to wear one when visiting Mint House.  Once seated in the Hearing Room, you may remove your face covering if you wish. Seating has been arranged to maintain respectful distance. This means that the number of seats available is limited. Seating is allocated on a first come, first served basis.

For those unable to attend hearings, transcripts of evidence will be published on the Inquiry website at www.childabuseinquiry.scot.
