It has come to our attention that there may be some misunderstanding about when an application for “leave to appear” is required.
What’s involved in having “leave to appear” is explained here on the Inquiry’s website.
Individuals do not need “leave to appear” to come forward as a witness to the Inquiry. Anyone with relevant information to tell of their experiences of abuse or witnessing abuse should get in touch with the Inquiry’s witness support team.
