During the week of 21 January 2019, the Inquiry will only sit to hear evidence in the current case study (Quarriers, Aberlour and Barnardo's) on Tuesday 22 January.
However, on Monday 21 and Wednesday 23 January, the Inquiry will hear the evidence, via video link from Australia, of witnesses whose evidence is relevant to the child migrants case study. Prior to migration, the witnesses were children in care in institutions run by the Sisters of Nazareth and Good Shepherd Sisters (Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd). The child migrants case study is not planned to take place until the latter part of next year but for various reasons, the evidence of these witnesses will be heard in advance.
Please note that because of time differences in Australia, the Inquiry will require to sit out with normal hearing hours. Further information on this will be available nearer the time.
Any person who wishes to participate in the evidential hearing on these dates should apply for leave to appear by 4pm on Monday 7 January.
A small bundle of documents will be made available in advance of the hearing to those who are granted leave to appear.
